How does the diagnostic test work?

Your car contains a computer – the Engine Control Unit (ECU) – which is connected to components of your car’s system and measures fluid levels, temperatures, immobilisers, traction control, power steering, airbags, air conditioning etc. When a fault or warning light comes on, it is advisable to get your car examined by an experienced professional so that repairs can be identified as soon as possible.

During your diagnostic test, our technicians connect a fault code reader to your ECU, which scans the system to identify where the faults are coming from. These appear as a series of codes on the system which can help the technicians to identify which component it is connected to and what the issue is.
